Vegetation Management Request Guide

For RCEC Members

Routine Maintenance:

  • Trees near overhead power lines are pruned year-round.
  • RCEC utilizes systematic rotation for our scheduled routine maintenance info@rcelectric.org

Member Requests:

  • If a dead tree is within falling distance of and poses a threat to falling on power lines, report at info@rcelectric.org or call (903) 657-4571.
  • Provide a daytime contact number and description of the tree.
  • RCEC has the right, but not the obligation, to prune only the parts that may contact lines.
  • Members are responsible for removing debris.

Service Line Trees:

  • RCEC does not trim trees near service drops (pole-to-house).
  • RCEC members may request a temporary disconnect for safe trimming.

Emergency Situations:

  • If a tree falls on a power line or sparks/arcing are visible, call 911 immediately.
  • Stay clear of the area for safety.
